Developing naturalized and inclusive everyday spaces

Wild Equity is helping organizations and groups make the places where we live, work, and play in more in-tune with our needs to find connection with each other and nature.

Our everyday spaces (i.e. offices, parks, squares, streetscapes, etc.) affect the way we feel, see the world, interact with each other, and the kind of connection we have to nature. The way we use and inhabit these everyday spaces can either divide or unite us. By thinking about places in a deeply personal and holistic way, we can reimagine them to better serve our individual and collective needs.

It's time to create beautiful, natural, and inspiring everyday spaces, right here and now.

I'm Cassandra. I am a queer, cisgender woman, first generation Canadian with Greek and East Indian roots. I am a visitor on these beautiful lands - the stolen, traditional and ancestral lands of the Algonquin Anishinaabeg Peoples - along the banks of the Kitchissippi River. I am eternally grateful to the Indigenous Elders who continue to share their knowledge of the land and traditional teachings with their communities and settlers alike.

I help organizations and communities reimagine and animate spaces so that they better serve and align with community needs.

I have lead and learned from my work in feminist, equity, diversity & inclusion, and enviromental campaigning for over 20 years. I have learned that transformative change involves creating spaces for people to feel cared for, listened to and seen.

Solving complex social and environmental issues needs to go beyond emails, webinars, and social media. Improving our physical environment, beyond the purely transactional and pragmatic, will make us feel more comfortable and happier in our day-to-day lives.

I am here to explore new ways to do inclusion work. I am here to inspire a more creative, inspiring, inclusive, and natural solution to our shared spaces.

Commitments

Every project contributes towards individual and collective healing. Every project contributes to environmental and social justice. I prioritize the centring of marginalized voices and the needs of equity-deserving groups.

I am committed to centering Indigenous voices in every project that is located on Turtle Island.

Change takes time and requires deep personal and organizational commitment- I am in it for the long haul.
